Website Design & Development Australia
Website Development is the core activity of cityofcairns.com and pertains to the actual construction of a new website.
The Website Development Process
Talking to you about your needs, evaluating your current business and determining how this will best fit into an online presence.
Finalise the content and images that will be used in your new website.
Within two weeks our graphic designer will create a graphic design concept for your website.
We will create a website, based on the finalised graphic design concept, that is refined, optimised and ready for the web.
Website Development encompasses talking to you about your needs, evaluating your current business and determining how this will best fit into an online presence.
We discuss with you:
- Who your target market is
- What your primary product or service is
- What type of ancillary services you wish promote on the website
- How you will use the website to sell your product or service
- What type of website is best suited to your needs
- What domain name and hosting arrangements you wish to pursue
Before any development work begins you will need to write content for the website (don’t worry, we’re more than happy to help with this if you’re unsure how to go about it) and collect all of your current marketing materials (business cards, brochures, digital images, photographs, etc.).
This ensures that the design process run smoothly because we completely understand your business and your target markets.
Following the initial consultation, we ask for a 50% investment up-front so we can commence website development. We then take any promotional material you have and within two weeks, create a graphic design concept for your website.
We’ll place this in a temporary location online for you to have a look at and then discuss with you any changes you wish to make. Once the design concept is finalised we can then move on to constructing the website.
Over the next week or two (depending on the size of the website) we will create the website based on the graphic design concept and continually place it in the temporary location for you to monitor its progress.
At the conclusion of the website development process, we’ll ask you to review the entire site and tell us of any changes you wish to make. We then optimise the website for cross browser compatibility, Google Search Engines and website statistics. The website is then uploaded to its final location on payment finalisation.
Website Marketing & Promotion
Once your website is up and running there are some things to consider and track:
- Promoting your new website both offline and online
- The best manner to handle online requests
- How to go about modifying the website later down the track
Promoting Your Website Offline and Online
This could take the form of Search Engine Optimisation, where we continually enhance the ranking of your website by modifying aspects of your website, negotiating links to your website and carefully submitting your website to appropriate search engines and directories. Please see our Search Engine Optimisation Australia page for further information on Search Engine Optimisation.
Alternatively, for larger websites or those with a bigger sales push we offer a complete Website Marketing package which comprises a full Search Engine Optimisation package, as well as enhanced link accrual, newsgroup and email marketing, negotiating deals with other website operators, and various other methods of attracting and converting traffic to your website. Please see our Website Marketing Australia page for further information.
If a Search Engine Optimisation or Website Marketing package is not desired, rest assured that any website constructed by cityofcairns.com will already be very search engine compatible, and this provides you a marginal edge over your competitors.
Your new website will also include hand submission to the major search engines, careful inclusion of your website in the most popular directories such as Yahoo and DMOZ, as well as suggestions on how you can marketing your website yourself.
